A new 11 home development is being built within the Pinetree Country Club. These golf course homes will start in the $500’s, and the development will be called Wedgewood at Pinetree Country Club.

In a $65 million dollar renovation, The Cumberland Mall will build a newly designed streetscape, an open air plaza with a tree lined path connecting it to the Cobb Galleria Convention Center. In this new development, 5 full service restaurants will occupy and serve food to the many visitors to the mall and convention center. The restaurants are:
- Cheesecake Factory
- P.F. Changs
- Stoney River Legendary Steaks
- Ted’s Montana Grill
- Maggiano’s
The restaurants are scheduled to open in November of 2006.

The Cobb County Commission today approved a plan to build a seven story Hilton hotel, along with a mix of offices, shops and restaurants, near the Town Center Mall. The project will include 42 townhomes, 15 shops and restaurants and office space. It will be located on Chastain Road near George Busbee Parkway. Developers and builders will break ground in mid August and finish the retail and office space by spring of 2007, with the hotel and townhomes opening later in that year.

The National Civic League announced that Marietta has won the coveted All American City Award, the nation’s longest running and most prestigious civic recognition program. Three reasons the city of Marietta cited when making their application for this award were a great crime rate reduction, a significant investment in redevelopment and the Marietta Reads program, a reading and literacy program.
This award will significantly help the city of Marietta in many ways such as attracting business, generating jobs, and increased tourism.
