Bankrate surveys mortgage experts each week to find out which direction they think rates will go over the next 30-45 days. Last week 50% of them saw mortgage rates going up and 50% saw mortgage rates staying the same. This week, 50% think rates will increase, 25% think rates will decrease and 25% think rates will stay unchanged.

Here’s the latest numbers on interest rates for the week of November 14th - November 20th. This national survey was performed by Bankrate.com on Wednesday, November 16th.

Last week 50% of them saw mortgage rates going up and 50% saw mortgage rates dropping. This week 50% think rates will increase and 50% think rates will stay the same. This is the first time in long string of weekly Bankrate surveys where no mortgage experts, not even a small percentage, thought rates would drop. This may be a sign that mortgage rates really are going to trend upwards for a while.

Some West Cobb home owners are still very upset that a planned Conservation Subdivsion could be approved even though the developer, K2 Ventures, LLC, lowered the number of homes from 91 to 86 and agreed to 1.75 acre per home density on their 48 acre planned development. The planned subdivision will surround the existing Macland West subdivision and the Lost Mountain Trails subdivision which is currently under construction. The houses in this proposed neighborhood will be at least 2,200 square feet and sell for more than $300,000.
